	Me encuentro en la cantera abandonada de Osinbeltz “Ortiga negra” cerca de mi casa aquí en el País Vasco.
Las canteras son espacios que abren la tierra y explotan su interior. En el caso de Osinbeltz, al finalizar la actividad minera se presentó un plan para convertirla en vertedero, el cual quedó paralizado gracias a la presión realizada por la comunidad.
Ahora este lugar es, o debería ser, un santuario en el cual amparar la pausa y la recuperación. Observar cómo la vida se abre camino y retoma su lugar es un aprendizaje esencial en el contexto actual en el que vivimos.
En primavera estas paredes se llenan de nidos de golondrinas y sus cantos. La vida llama a la vida, y otros seres comienzan a habitar la aparente dura piedra.
Cada vez intuyo con más claridad que nuestro trabajo aquí es amar aquello que late, aquello que brota, aquello que está. Quizá para ello hemos de caer poco a poco, volver a la tierra, ser raíz. Y acompañarnos con calma y ternura hacia un existir más lento y atento a todo lo que necesita ser cuidado interna y externamente. Despacio. 
Comparto aquí unas palabras que creo que pueden ayudar en este proceso de sanar la herida que a veces sentimos demasiado grande, demasiado profunda, pero no por ello incurable.

	Pasé mi infancia en las aguas de este río llamado Oria, un río que en el año 1971 fue declarado el río más contaminado del mundo en el Congreso Mundial de la Salud. Su grave contaminación se debía a la industria del papel, que fue y sigue siendo altamente contaminante.
Una amiga un poco mayor que yo me cuenta cómo ella recuerda haber aprendido los colores según el color de las aguas que corrían aquel día, dependiendo del papel que se producía.
La fotografía que se ve aquí es de un niño saliendo del río en aquellos años, todo cubierto de espuma. Hoy en día la contaminación ha disminuido favorablemente y el río Oria va recuperándose poco a poco, al menos los niños se bañan tranquilos y las nutrias y otras criaturas desplazadas lentamente están volviendo.

El acceso al agua, su proximidad, es condición esencial para la vida. Desde sus inicios, las poblaciones humanas se han asentado y extendido junto a los ríos. Con el tiempo, nuestra presencia e imponencia ha ido mermando su ser natural y salvaje, contaminando, encauzando, desviando e incluso soterrando sus aguas y la vida en ellas.


El río es un elemento vivo que nos atraviesa de manera vital, sostiene nuestro entorno, nuestro alimento, nuestro cotidiano e imaginario. Nos recuerda la constancia del movimiento. Nos limpia y, en ocasiones, nos desborda. Nos comunica, sitúa y orienta. Nos invita a observar y a escuchar.
Últimamente siento la necesidad profunda de caminar junto a ríos y riachuelos. Observar y reconocer sus formas, su caudal y sus sedimentos, aquellos que naturalmente le pertenecen y aquellos que no. Aproximarme a la vida que a pesar de todo se manifiesta en ellos. Entender como el paso del tiempo y de los humanos ha condicionado su estado actual. Atender sus heridas, tomar registro y realizar algun pequeño gesto que nos recuerde nuestro vínculo vital con el agua.En este caminar, he empezado a hacer uso de elementos básicos íntimamente ligados a lo humano y el agua, tales como un vaso, una jarra o un cántaro. Divago portando alguno de estos objetos en busca de agua en su estado “natural”, o en busca simplemente del acceso al río, puesto que en muchos lugares apenas se puede acceder a sus aguas, porque están entre muros o bajo hormigón. 


Todo ello me lleva a repensar de dónde viene el agua que bebemos. Si potable es sinónimo de sana, cuando un río está siendo severamente contaminado. Cómo el río sigue siéndolo si no le dejamos fluir. Acudir al río al encuentro del agua es un acto de rememoración de nuestro vinculo ancestral con él, que trae a su vez la figura de aquellas personas, en su mayoría mujeres, que iban y en algunos lugares aun van a recoger el agua.
Recordar nuestra relación necesaria y frágil con la naturaleza. Volver al río y verlo como lo que esencialmente ha sido y es para los humanos y para un sin fin de especies, infinita fuente de vida.&#38;nbsp;

Hace un tiempo inicié una pequeña investigación y experimentación en torno a filtros de agua hechos en cerámica, una tecnología de purificación de agua de bajo coste, eficaz y sostenible que puede producirse de manera local y artesanal en cualquier parte del mundo. Dada la escasez de agua y la gran contaminación de éstas, me pareció clave traer a la luz este antiguo y práctico sistema de filtración. Incitando así a la soberanía en el cuidado de las aguas y a la autonomía en la disposición de agua limpia gracias a técnicas accesibles y manuales. Básicamente, limpiar nuestra agua con nuestra propia tierra, mezclándo arcilla con materia orgánica combustible y cociéndola en unas condiciones específicas.

En el marco del siguiente proyecto IRAGAZTEN DUEN LURRA “tierra que filtra” indago más en torno a esta maravillosa tecnología de filtración de agua.

Lurpeko bizi-prozesuetan barrentzeko ikerketa eta esperimentazio lana da hau, oro har ikusezina den bizitza hori ezagutu eta azaleratzeko saiakera bat. Zehazki mizelioen bilakaera, hazkuntza eta harremantzea nola ematen den aztertzen duen prozesu artistiko-zientifikoa da LURPEAN. Hilabetez Txileko LABVA laborategian eta honen inguruetan garatzen da proiektua bertako onddo eta lurrekin lan eginez.


/ En Lurpean nos adentramos en los procesos subterráneos en un intento por conocer y visibilizar esa vida casi invisible. Se trata de un proceso artístico-científico de estudio de la evolución, crecimiento y relación de los micelios. Todo se desarrolla en el sur de Chile, en el laboratorio de biomateriales LABVA y sus alrededores, donde recolectamos tierras y hongos para poder trabajar con ellos.

Repensar de dónde viene el agua que bebemos. Si potable es sinónimo de sana cuando un río está siendo severamente contaminado, como lo es el Llobregat. Cómo el río sigue siéndolo si no le dejamos fluir, correr.El 2023 estuve en residencia en Konvent donde inicié un proyecto relacionado con la gestión y el cuidado del agua. Investigué y realicé varios filtros cerámicos, una tecnología de purificación de agua de bajo coste, eficaz y sostenible que puede producirse de manera artesanal y asequible en cualquier parte del mundo.Dada la escasez de agua y la gran contaminación de éstas, me parece clave traer a la luz este antiguo y útil sistema de filtración, incitando así a la soberanía hidríca.Gracias infinitas a Laura Guerrero y Josep Mates, quienes nutren este proceso con su conocimiento y experiencia en la elaboración de filtros ceramicos y el tratamiento de aguas. Llevan a cabo un maravilloso proyecto de filtros cerámicos que se llama&#38;nbsp;@tritoverd.&#38;nbsp;
